iOS “Push” E-mail

I have been a happy MobileMe user for just a couple of weeks. So far I am really satisfied with the product and especially like how it integrates with my Mac, iPhone and iPad. There is one thing that really bugs me though: the so called “push e-mail” feature of iOS isn’t really “push” as described.
